The First Pachube International Internet of Things Hackathon is a global 24-hour event that starts on April 8, 2011 at 2pm (UK time) and ends on April 9, 2011 at 2pm (UK time).

Calling all developers, designers, makers, mixers, mashers, tinkerers, philosopher-mechanics and sales engineers! Join us in helping to define and build the Internet of Things on Global Internet of Things Day! Use Pachube if you want, or build on other APIs - make something physical, or virtual; hardware or software; conceptual or practical - the point is for us to spend 24 hours connecting up our things to the web, our environments to our things, and our things to US! Starts on April 8, 2011 at 2pm UK time (which is 10pm in Tokyo, 11pm in Sydney, 6am in San Francisco) and goes on for 24 hours until 2pm (UK time) on April 9, 2011.

Please either join us in London or host your own local event!

I hope to demonstrate the Nanode at the London event - a low cost network sensor node based on ATmega328 (Arduino) and compatible with Arduino shields.

See my blog for details or to contact me for design information or request a sample pcb.

Great news: Arkessa, will be providing GPRS modems and routers with sim cards for connecting directly to Pachube!

... ensuring that there is a simple way to create a Pachube feed using GPRS and 3G connections to remote devices. It now means that anyone can connect anything, wherever it is, via the Pachube infrastructure.

We have a few things planned for the 24 hours, but feel free to come and add your ideas, try some things, develop some distractions and engage in some global data streaming.

Well I'll be at the NYC event wherever it lands. My only concern currently is the "where" part. It keeps saying "TBD" on the countdown clock.

How many places have been considered, and discarded by the way?

Hello!
Okay Ed, thank you!
I believe I can find it from where I'll be coming from that day. I might try to find the building a day or two earlier so that I can be there when I can on the Friday.

Now about tickets:
I have the one from when I registered. I imagine that'll still be valid despite the fact that it doesn't say where the event will be happening?

You don't actually need a physical ticket, just ID to enter the building based on our guestlist.

Just wanted to throw a hail-mary out there and see if anyone was interested in getting together in the Seoul area?

I also posted the event on http://postscapes.com/Events. Have fun out there at the NYC and London events, I wish I could be there.

Hello!
Of course. I have one, someplace. Now as to the scheduling, I see that it starts at 4PM Friday, and runs through the evening until Saturday Morning on or about 9AM.

It happens for the Friday I have a conflicting appointment, so I'll be along for the morning on the Saturday.

I've just posted a new version of OpenRTMS, an Android application that allows you to relay sensor data to Patchube from an Arduino with Bluetooth capabilities. I will be updating info about the platform throughout the day tomorrow via the github wiki. You can download and install the build on your android device from the github. I will bring a few Arduinos with Bluetooth capabilities to the hackathon on Friday for anyone that is interested in working with the hardware or software. Looking forward to work with everyone!

Very interesting that. However which event? There are as you might be aware several going on all at once. I am not going to be physically present at the Friday opener in NYC, because I've got an appointment then.

But I will be present for the closing ceremonies, (if there are any) and a few hours leading up to them on the Saturday.

It's seems a really nice event, I am sure there will be lots of people there with who you can spend some nice quality time.
